We have socials after every race and various other social events throughout the year, along with an Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony over the winter. All members are invited to attend all socials even if you don't race that day!

We have socials after the club races at Whittaker Pointe Marina, often hosted by a member with contributing side dishes. A not-unlimited supply of beverages is provided, compliments of your favorite sailing association.  The socials are not held if the race is cancelled or postponed.

    The SailPack Oriental Intercollegiate Regatta returns to Oriental this weekend!

    Watch the racing from Lou Mac Park, and plan to attend the  Saturday night  BBQ at Bow to Stern (290 Blackwell Point Loop Rd), a fundraiser to support the students and the regatta.

  • "April Foolishness" Regatta

    Logistics Details to follow, but this will be a Team event, where participating boats will be encouraged to form a team with their community, either their Marina, location in town, some other sailing club.  We're still working on the details of how we determine winners, but it will be based on participation, not sailing skill.

    Like "Instead of Football Regatta", we'll start out from Oriental Marker #1 at noon. Warning horn at 11:55a. The Regatta’s a great way to kickoff the 2025 Racing Season. You can sail, you can motor. No one’s really keeping score. Well, most aren’t. 

    The mandatory (mandatory should you wish to eat) Skippers’ Meeting is after the race TBD.

    Logistics

    Dinghy launching will be at Bow to Stern at 290 Blackwell Point Loop Rd, Oriental, NC 28571.  Trailered boats can be launched at the wild life ramp at  301 Midyette St, Oriental, NC 28571.  Changing facilities and limited charter boats are also available at BtS.  

    The first warning signal will be at 13:30. We will have starts for one design boats if 3 or more are present.  All others will sail in the open class.

  • JAM and Spinnaker - Around the Buoys - Race #1

    Logistics:

    Spinnaker and Jib and Main (JAM) boats gather on the Neuse River off of Oriental, NC, generally north east of mark SC1.    The course will be marked with ODC inflatable marks. Spinnaker and JAM fleets will have separate starts.

    All boats should check-in with the race committee boat.   

    The first warning signal will be at 13:00 for the Spinnaker fleet, with the JAM fleet starting shortly there-after.  JAM fleet should stay clear of the starting line until after the Spinnaker fleet start.

    We will run up to 4 races each day of racing.
